We went to the EcoTarium in Worcester, MA today and here is my review.....

Bathrooms: They are everywhere. I was amazed at how many bathrooms they have. You will find them on every floor and outside by the dining area. All of the bathrooms we went into had changing tables.
Cleanliness: It was clean.
Store: They have a souvenir store inside and an indoor lunch area with vending machines or an outside dining area with tables, chairs and umbrellas. The menu is small, but we found what we needed. They also serve slush drinks outside.
Overall: We really enjoyed the EcoTarium. The building is more like a museum/nature center with three floors of hands on exhibits. There are also live animals inside ie. turtles, snakes, frogs, ferret and an opossum. The outside has really nice walking trails. Outside you will also find the Polar Bear, the Bald Eagle, numerous Owls, a Red Fox and a really nice playground area with a large sandbox. The other really cool thing is that they have a train! My son really enjoyed riding the train. At one part there is a tunnel that the children love to yell in. It's a really great place to go with children any age. My friend and I went with two three year olds and we found plenty to do! Go check out the EcoTarium. You won't be disappointed!

Could you do this in the rain or would it be more fun on a clear day??
You could do it in the rain. There is quite a bit inside to do, but I would suggest going on a clear day. There is a lot outside. I think we spent just as much time outside as we did inside.
We had a great time going. My son loved the inside domes that showed the difference of having the sun/heat and the moon/cool. There were lots of fun things to do in the museum part. We enjoyed the train ride and seeing all of the animals. They had a nice playground for a time out to play. I would recommend. I hope to go back again sometime.
During the summer they have a jazz concerts at sunset. In the past you could bring a picnic, blanket and a bottle of wine, sit outside and enjoy the music!
THE INSIDE IS NOT VERY STROLLER FRIENDLY, BUT MY SON LOVED THE INSIDE PLAY AREAS, AND THE HUGE SANDBOX. ALSO THE TRAIN WAS GREAT. IT WAS HOT AND MY WIFE WAS 9 MONTHS PREGNANT WITH TWINS AT THE TIME, SO THE OUT SIDE NATURE WALKS WERE OUT OF THE QUESTION FOR US. WE WENT ON THE TRAIN RIDE,AND WHEN WE GOT BACK EVERYTHING WAS STILL IN OUR STROLLER. THIS PLACE GETS A THUMBS UP FROM THIS DAD.
Thank you so much for creating and working on this blog! I have lived in Massachusetts for 2 years this November (hubby's military) and have had a TERRIBLE time figuring out what is good and what isn't before we waste money. Thank you again! We are going to the Ecotarium tomorrow :-)
The Ecotarium is really one of the region's best -- and perhaps most underrated -- cultural attractions. I think if it was in Boston, the Ecotarium would be even more popular than it is. It might not have the "household name" presence of other museums -- and there are quite a few world-class museums in the area -- but I would rank this destination right up there, also! Had a great time --such an entertaining and informative experience.
i was at ecotarium in worcester ma. wont go back until they get a friend for the lone lonely all by himself polar bear. he paces back and forth, a sure sign he is bored.i had a real hard time watching him pace. it brought tears to my eyes PAT RI 2009
