Davis' Farmland, Sterling, MA (5 smiles)

We went to Davis' Farmland in Sterling, MA today and here is my review.....

Date: 9/11/2008

Parking:  Plenty

Gate/Admissions:  [$$$$$]  No lines today!  Must be the time of year.

Birthday Parties:  Yes

Bathroom:  All of the bathrooms are in the building where the dining area is located.
They have family rooms and men's and women's rooms.  All have changing tables and are very clean.  They also have small sinks!  Hurray!

Cleanliness:  The park is pretty clean.  It is a farm however, so expect all the traditional farm things like animal poop!  They do have running water outside to wash hands and plenty of antibacterial lotion dispensers.  There were a lot of flies in the dining area, but there are a bunch of picnic tables with shade that you can use right outside of the dining area.

Store:  They do have a traditional souvenir store and they have a wonderful lunch counter.  They offer just about everything that a toddler would eat!  They also offer a variety of lunch options for adults.  I thought the prices were reasonable.  You can also pack your own lunch and eat it at the picnic tables if you prefer.

Overall:  So far this year this is my favorite pick!  We loved it.  They have calves, pigs, sheep, llama, ponies, chickens, ducks, cows, horses and a bunch of goats.  (I am sure I am forgetting a lot of animals).  The children can feed them and pet them.  They have milking demonstrations and egg collecting!  They have a wonderful hayride that we enjoyed and play spaces for toddlers.  They have little houses that the children can play in with lots of toys.  They have structures for the kids to play on!   There is a water sprinkler park, but today was a bit too chilly for that.  It looked great though.  Next year we will plan to go on a day that my son can play in the water also.  They really did their homework here.  There are minimal "No's".  Everything is geared towards toddlers and young children.  I love that!  In my opinion Davis' Farmland is a must do!

  1. I just went to Davis' Farmland with my 19 month old son and my friend's 3 year old daughter over the weekend and had a wonderful time. The grounds are taken care of, the staff "farmers" are very friendly and helpful, and most importantly, my son and my friend's daughter loved every second of it. It was so enjoyable that I already want to go back next weekend! I can't wait to try the water area and the maze later this summer.

I'm so glad you recommended this farm!

  2. I've been going to Davis' for years now and LOVE it there, we drive over an hour to get there and think it's well worth the trip every time! I have 3 boys, ages 5, 4 and 1 and everyone has a blast! One of the things that I love there is the attention to the families - in every bathroom and on most of the picnic tables you'll find baby wipes for you to use, hand sanitizer everywhere and just how many different things there are to do in one park! It's wonderful!!!

  3. Last year I took my Twin 3year olds to Davis Farm, and they asked if they could come back and have their Birthday Party @ Moo Moo's Farm. So this year We had their 4th Birthday party at Davis Farmland and I couldn't ask for a better experience, the staff were friendly and very accommodating, even giving a private tour to guests that arrived late. Everyone attending had a wonderful time and the spray ground was a great treat at the end of a hot sticky day.

  4. We just went here and it was great. The staff was fantastic. And overall it was clean for a farm. We drove an hour to get there and will definitely do it again. Also, there's another bathroom over by the splash area, warm changing rooms and lockers. Plus they rent towels if you forget one like I did.

  5. We went here with my in laws and my niece and nephews and we absolutely LOVED it here. We went on the hayride, fed all sorts of farm animals, played in the toddler area (my son is 19 months) and he loved the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe racing track. Too cute! Everytime I used a bathroom there was someone in there cleaning! This place was so clean especially for a farm! The kids spent hours in the spray park as well. We will go back again possibly this fall but definitely next summer!
