We went to The Children's Met in Derry, NH on July 2nd and here is my review....
Parking: Plenty behind the building to the right. The sign for The Met is small and up high so look up!
Gate/Admissions: [$$$] Attentive and informative.
Birthday Parties: Yes
Bathrooms: There are three bathrooms. One has a changing table (that needs a new pad) but it works.
Cleanliness: Pretty clean. I didn't see anybody going around cleaning. The toys looked used, but not filthy.
Store: none
Overall: I liked it. My son loved the train set and the fire engine. There is also a cute spot for real little ones with a gate that goes all the way around. We were able to spend about 1 hour and a half there and he had a great time. There are a few small tables that you can eat at if you choose to bring a lunch.
I agree with pretty much everything you said about The Met. I took the children in my daycare there last week and they all liked it. There was something for all ages. I wouldn't recommend it to people with children over age 8-10 though. They could use a few newer toys but that's about it.
ReplyDeletewe've yet to go to the Met,but I have always heard great things about it.
ReplyDeleteThey actually have a new Stonyfield Farms exhibit that my kids just love! I hear they have plans for the near future for many new updates that we will all love and appreciate! On another note, my son has attended their workshops for over a year now and my daughter is very excited to attend her first one next week! The teachers are so sweet and they always learn fun and interesting things! It's helped prepare them for pre-school and given me a little bit of a "break" :o)
ReplyDeleteI took my 18 month old daughter there on Saturday. She had a great time. I too have heard nothing but great things about the Met. We signed up for a year membership and can't wait to check out the Portsmouth and Boston Children's Museums! I do wish that infant area was a little bit more exciting, but it was great for my daughter.
ReplyDeleteThe Met will be closing in December, 2008 due to financial difficulties.
ReplyDeleteThe Met is now closed for good. They just closed their doors on Nov 30th due to financial issues. I have gone a few times with my daughter and actually got a membership in October of this year, for a year. The personel did not inform me that the doors would be closing and my money I spent on the membership wouldn't be refunded. I am very disappointed by this and had to pass on the information to others as they are no longer there.
